This piece seeks to bring the collective unconscious to the forefront in a swirl of past lives and stories told and untold. Each layer a voice with wisdom to impart upon the listener. I've always thought of this as a conversation between a child and an elder, be it a family member, a friend or a stranger with which you find yourself sharing space. The high voices of the young counterpointed with the deep resonance of age imparting knowledge that you cannot read or write. In this dream state, a tapestry is woven through the soaring highs of reconnection to the lows of lessons learned and opportunities for deep growth as an individual and a collective humanity. This is the memory of all lives that came before us and the struggles and triumphs by which our world's are built.
This piece was recorded as a single live take. It features electric guitar as the sole instrument by which these voices come to fruition.
Blindingly beautiful solo tribal nature ambient/folk. Looking up, I hear her cry split the heavens. Her blessing floats down to me, lightning, shining, cleansing. Her mark sears my body and I am transformed; my cry splits the heavens even as I am split, and remade whole. Dave Aftandilian
Sweeping, epic, melancholic, vast, heavier than time. This album accompanies me on mountain hikes and forest treks, music that is resplendent in nature and as grounding as the soil beneath my feet. Beautiful audial and physical craft from Chet as always. Lake of Berra
